  • Detail Job Experience as Regular Employee-

From 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2018, I had been working with GIZ Rule of Law Program at the capacity of National Project Coordinator responsible for inclusion, rehabilitation, reintegration of gender, vulnerability and disability and referral services (health, livelihood, life skill, drug treatment, counseling, legal aid, social & economic reintegration etc.) for vulnerable prisoners including women, adolescents, children, elderly people and person with disability. Capacity building of partner organizations through training and mentoring, program development for government agencies, private sectors, corporate bodies and PNGOs. Conducted number of researches projects in the areas of prisoner’s health, livelihood, counseling, life skills, advocacy and networking. Provided project monitoring and oversight management supports.

From 15 June 2011 to 30 June 2013, I had been working with GIZ Gender, Governance and Rights Project at the capacity of National Project Coordinator were responsible for ‘Implementation of UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ with the role of designing and implementation of the project, advocacy, coordination and networking. Worked with numbers of stakeholders like government agencies, PNGOs, local elected bodies (union council and municipality), community leaders, CBOs etc. Doing joint planning and implementation, documentation, awareness campaign, IEC and advocacy material development, translation of UN CRPD in an ‘easy to use’ format. Adopted right-based tools in the project and its activities. Conducted researches and studies and played strong advocacy for ensuring accessibility for people with disability in all government and private service agencies. Focus was given to women with disability because of their severe marginalization.

From 1 June 2009 to 14 June 2011, I had been working with GTZ Good Urban Governance Project at the capacity of Senior Adviser responsible for capacity building of the staffs of 50 municipalities in Bangladesh in regards to promote the municipality as pro-people’s service providing agencies. Capacity building of citizen groups including women, children, youth, adolescent and people with disabilities to become positive pressure groups to make the municipality understand better to its citizen and to take action based on their demands. Involved citizen in planning and implementation process of any development work of the municipalities. Special program has been taken for person with disability, women and people living in slums. Developed numbers of training modules for Urban Governance Development, life skill and livelihood skill development for marginalized people. Designed capacity building interventions, developed training manual and facilitation of training and workshops. Translate and re-translate the document and modules from Bangla to English and English to Bangla. Developed partnership, cooperation and coordination strategies, implementation mechanism, monitoring, and advocacy. Documentation and reporting.

 

From 21 December 2006 to 17 December 2008, I had been working with ACCC Canada for PEDP II as National Specialist and Deputy Team Leader, Equitable Access and Inclusive Education (Gender, Tribal, Vulnerability and Disability issues) component with the role of implementation of 4 strategies and action plans. Developed numbers of technical modules and IEC material for capacity building and awareness rising. Built capacity of staffs of primary education department from headquarter to field level on technical issues to promote education for marginalized children because of gender, ethnic minority, socially known as lower graded professional (like Dalit people), children of zipsy and children with disability. Promoted new ideas like pre-primary, quality and equity based education and inclusive education, education for ethnic children, vulnerable children and gender in education. Ensured coordination with different stakeholders including government agencies, international donors and UN agencies, NGOs and local communities. Translated various documents from English to Bangla and vice versa. Initiated quality field monitoring and oversight management. Provided high quality report.

From 15 March 2006 to 20 December 2006, I had been working with UNDP Supported NEX Management and Aid Coordination Project as Capacity Building Specialist with the role to build capacity of the government high officials working at different ministries and directorates on project initiation, project designing and proposal writing, donor negotiation, fund mobilisation and utilization, project monitoring and reporting. Assisted government of Bangladesh to institutionalize the skills through training and exposure visits on how to initiate, how to implement, supervise and monitoring the development projects. Initiated youth capacity building interventions through the project.

From 1 October 2005 to 14 March 2006, I had been working with Grameen Shikkha, as Deputy General Manager looking after numbers of projects including adolescent health rights, reproductive health, slum education program, Early Childhood Development and Parenting, primary health care, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) and Arsenic mitigation projects. Provided Life skill and livelihood skills for urban slum children. Implemented slum children education project covering children with disability. Proposal writing, project planning, and implementation, staff management, team capacity building, supervision, monitoring and reporting. Conducted several Action Research on education for slum children, children living in rural marginalized communities, arsenic mitigation and on hygiene practice in project areas.

From 29 January 2005 to 30 October 2005, I had been working with SESIP (Secondary Education Sector Improvement Project) as Training Manager, School Performance Based Management, developed capacity of government secondary education department from school to headquarter on how to delivery education services for students both young and adolescent boys and girls. Developed numbers of training modules and facilitated courses. Leaded a team of master trainer and utilized them for capacity building of others through cascade system. Rights of person with disability, adolescent rights, and child rights issues were also included.

From 17 January 1999 to 30 September 2004, I had been working with German Assisted Primary Education Development Project as National Project Coordinator (head of technical areas), had been leading a team of technical staff and international consultants working for primary education quality development with responsibility of planning and coordination with government and donor agencies. Developed numbers of training modules, facilitated workshop-meeting, event management, capacity development of government primary education staffs, project monitoring and reporting. Ensuring quality primary education and include children with disability in primary education system was the major focus. Leading number of research projects. Assisted international consultants on the focused areas.

From 1 November 1996 to 10 August 1998, I had been working with SOLIDARITY (a national NGO) as Program Officer for Advocacy Education for Civic Participation Project with the capacity of leading the project for successful implementation. My role was to build capacity local government (union council) for the development of its citizen including upholding rights of gender, tax payer and empowered them to raise their voice in local elected government bodies. Developed awareness of different groups of beneficiaries. I have done advocacy with the local policy level people. Prepared budget, took initiative for staff development, project monitoring and reporting. The project was directly worked with local elected bodies (Union Council) and CBOs. The project was to include marginalized people in local government.

 

From 27 March 1994 to 30 June 1996, I had been working with CWCD (UNICEF DPHE Social Mobilisation for Water and Sanitation Project) as Training Consultant leaded the capacity development component of the Department of Public Health Engineering, developed numbers of training modules on Social Mobilisation Techniques for Executive Engineer, Sub-Divisional Engineer, Sub-Assistant Engineer, Health Educator, School Teacher, Union and Pourashava Mayor and counselor, staff of village sanitation center on WASH including hygiene and sanitation of individuals. Leaded a team of master trainer and trainer covering Rajshahi and Rangpur administrative division (17 districts). Monitoring and reporting.

From 10 August 1992 to 25 March 1994, I had been working with RDRS German assisted ‘Marginal & Small Farm System Crop Intensification Project’ as Subject Matter Specialist Training leaded the performance development component of the project. Developed numbers of training programs including curriculum & material, IEC material, facilitated number of courses, workshops, roundtables etc. Worked with government agriculture departments, NGOs, Marginal and Small farmers groups, agriculture research, Livestock, Fishers, and Agriculture extension departments and financing banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank) on promotion of ‘on farm’ and ‘off farm’, developed education programme for youth and adolescent people and also the farmers. Designed and conducted action research. Project monitoring and reporting.

From 12 April 1983 to 9 August 1992, I had been working with the Society for the Care & Education of the Mentally Retarded Bangladesh as Senior Guide Teacher leaded school and community based projects for education, training including vocational skill, life skill, rehabilitation and reintegration for the person with disabilities. Provided socialisation programme including better health services for students (children, adolescent, youths and adults). Developed concepts, ideas, planning, budgeting, implementation, staff development, team management, advocacy, coordination, supervision, awareness building and monitoring of the project. Built capacity of the project staff and stakeholders. Donor management and reporting. Translated numbers of documents from English to Bangla and customize those as per need of local institution.
