Employment History at TIB: Joined TIB as Research Officer on 10 July 2005; promoted to Senior Research Officer on 7 February 2007; Senior Programme Manager, Research and Policy, TIB, from 1 April 2009 to March 2022.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and conduct independent research on issues pertaining to governance and corruption, produce research reports, make public presentations, and participate/ represent the organisation in national and international policy dialogues, conferences and forums, as and when assigned;
  • Lead and supervise qualitative studies from the design to implementation stage (designing tools, planning field operations, training field supervisors/ staff, supervising / coordinating data collection, analysing data, and report writing), provide substantive and technical feedback in concrete terms on draft research reports prepared by researchers, provide guidance in preparing policy papers/ briefs and designing policy advocacy strategies on the basis of research findings;
  • Provide support to the research team with feedbacks, designing and editing reports, preparing concept papers, policy briefs and public presentations of the same;
  • Assist in managing projects undertaken by TIB as a part of the Senior Management Team; this includes preparing Annual Operations Plan (AOP) along with budget, assisting the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team in preparing quarterly and annual progress reports, and taking part in the decision-making process with regard to issues related to project management;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance and development of research staff.

Professional achievements

  1. Designed, implemented and managed around five projects in TIB and RMMRU (see Annex 1). Also actively involved in the development of five project proposals, which have been successfully implemented. Successfully organised a number of national and international conferences, seminars and workshops.
  2. Successfully conducted/ involved in 33 researches. Some of them were conducted under the organisations that I have worked for, some were commissioned by international agencies, whereas some were international studies where I was involved as country researcher (see Annex 2).
  3. Edited books and newsletters for the organisations I have worked for; edited 13 volumes of books containing summaries of research reports released by TIB, newsletters published by TIB and RMMRU (see Annex 3).
  4. Presented papers in a number of national and international conferences and seminars (see Annex 4).
  5. Contributed in developing the Bangla Writing Guide (2022) and the Gender Manual (2007) of TIB. Was a Member of the Gender Core Committee of TIB during 2005 – 2015.
  6. Was awarded the Young Professional Fellowship for a research study on Women Married to Migrant Workers: Their Security and Empowerment in Bangladesh Context, under the Forum on Women and Security in International Relations (FOWSIA) funded by Bangladesh Freedom Foundation, July 2003 – March 2004.
  7. Received different professional and topical training including project cycle management, policy analysis and advocacy, data analysis tools, and research methodology (see Annex 5).
